Kestrel Rest 1 – spacious six bedroom alpine group accommodation

Kestrel Rest 1 is a fully self-contained large group property located in Jindabyne, designed to accommodate extended families or groups visiting the surrounding Snowy Mountains. With six bedrooms and three bathrooms, it offers a practical and spacious base for ski trips, summer stays and group getaways close to town and outdoor activities.

Open plan living and dining designed for large groups

The home features a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, designed to handle group catering with ease. The adjoining dining area provides ample seating for shared meals, flowing into a lounge room with a flat screen TV for relaxed evenings. Electric heating throughout ensures comfort in colder months, making it suitable for year-round stays.

Six bedroom layout with flexible sleeping options

Kestrel Rest 1 offers a functional sleeping configuration across two levels:

Three bedrooms with queen beds
One bedroom with a single bed and bunk beds
Two upstairs bedrooms each with two single beds

This layout is well suited to mixed groups, offering flexibility and shared accommodation while maintaining privacy across rooms.

Garage, drying room and optional extra accommodation

The property includes a double lock-up garage with internal access, along with a dedicated drying and waxing area for ski and board equipment. A full laundry with washing machine and dryer is also provided. An attached additional unit can be booked separately, accommodating up to five extra guests for larger group requirements.

Great for Large Groups

We had a large family ski trip and this was great accommodation for a large group. The rooms were reasonable size and spread out across the house to accommodate noise. The only downside to the accommodation was there are some basic essentials that were missing (eg: no bin liners on arrival, no can opener) and the house needs some basic repairs (some of the power points in the rooms didnt work, the showerscreen in one bathroom was very difficult to open) so some easy things to fix.

Perfect Stay

We had a full house at Kestrels Rest and used it as our base for 3 days of skiing at Thredbo. Had everything we needed for a super comfortable stay, would definitely book again. Accommodation Jindabyne were great to deal with also and we also got all our hire stuff from The Base who were super helpful too. Highly reccommend all of the above.

Very good place to stay

In extremely hot weather like these days about 30 degrees, the room could become very hot because the wind can not flow through and the window can not be fully opened. But I think this kind of weather is extremely uncommon in snow areas LOL.

Enjoyed our Stay

A lovely place to stay during our visit to Jindabyne and the ski fields. The house is fully furnished with modern appliances and fully stocked kitchen. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The balcony has a great view of the lake and snowy mountains. It is unfortunate there is no external seating on the balcony to sit and enjoy the view. Please note there is no internet connection but 4G connections are okay (depending on your provider).

Very comfortable

Bedding was so clean and comfortable, protectors on pillows etc. Lounge area bit grubby, needs new lounge. Kitchen very well equipped. Nice quiet neighbourhood, easy walk to Jindabyne shops. Parking is mostly on street, only 2 car spots in garage, small car outside maybe, driveway shared with adjoining unit. No outside furniture on balcony. Drying room and board waxing area good.
