Winterwood boasts spectacular views of Lake Jindabyne and the Snowy Mountains from the full length front verandah whilst accommodating up to sixteen guests across six bedrooms, three bathrooms and two kitchens.
This property provides comfortable, clean and spacious rooms throughout with two large living areas, each with TV, DVD player and stereo. Open plan kitchen and dining room on the upstairs level. There are three bathrooms with baths. Full laundry facilities with drying room and lockable ski racks for the winter season. There is ample heating with both gas and electric heaters throughout along with two open wood fireplaces for the cooler months. Guests can make the most of the fantastic views whilst preparing meals on the gas BBQ on the front verandah.
Downstairs consists of three bedrooms; one room with a king and set of bunks, another with two singles and the third with four singles. Upstairs, two rooms have queen beds, one with ensuite and the third with a set of bunks.
Winterwood is just metres from East Jindabyne convenience store, a short stroll to the Lake Jindabyne foreshore, and an easy 35-minute drive to the snow & ski fields of Thredbo and Perisher. Whether your aim is to have an action-packed winter skiing holiday or a relaxing summer break, Winterwood is the ideal base.

Perfect home away from home for a big group

Himali R - 28th July 2025Great location with overlooking lake. It took a while to heat up the rooms and kitchen area as there were only small oil heaters. Some rooms did not even have oil heaters and the old style heaters fixed to the wall did not work. It was very uncomfortable to sleep at night.Bathrooms had shower curtains and it made the bathroom wet. If the owner can pay more attention to fix proper heaters it will make a huge difference to a pleasant stay.

Kailash V - 16th June 2025Vanessa was a great host and Winterwood in an awesome place at the foothills of snowy mountains, very close to jindabyne, very well suited for big groups with 6+ bedrooms. The property was clean, maintained well, as per description. We got lucky over the start of the season in early June 2025, where we got super heavy snowfall in Perisher as well light snow, lighting the mornings at Winterwood. I would recommend Vanessa and Winterwood for anyone who is visiting Snowy. Cheers!

Awesome house for large families or groups
Colleen H - 29th April 2025We were two families staying in the house, we couldn’t fault it. The house although a little dated was very clean. The view from the home is amazing and sitting on the deck watching the sunset in the evening was the perfect thing to do after a long day being active . This is a great house for large families or a couple of families. We would highly recommend it.

Need new cleaners
Regina T - 8th November 2024Bathrooms mouldy shower curtains and black mould around tiles and soap dishes. Range hood fan not working, unable to open windows in a number of rooms throughout house like a sauna on a hot day in bedrooms one fan to share amongst bedrooms. Mattress protector on one of the beds didn’t check the others blood patches on the protector would you want to sleep on that disgusting, flyscreen door broken in dining has to wrestle it to get out on back deck , some bedroom light on dresser tables

Pleasant large home in East Jindabyne

Jahnavi M - 24th June 2023The house is divided into 2 parts - The ground floor is old and dirty. The top floor is newly built. 1. Heaters were not working and we had to go and buy 3 new heaters. Given that people visit here in winter the owner should have checked if the heaters were working efficiently. The house was bloody freezing when we reached. 2. The ground floor has spider webs in the ceilings in all rooms. 3. Dirty and scary laundry with filthy washing machine and dryer. 4. Dishwasher not working

Memorable Experience
Anisha T - 4th July 2022We were 4 families, with 8 adults and 6 small kids below 7.We went during the first week of July. The property is spacious with enough bedrooms and bathrooms. They have 2 kitchen with more than enough utensils for a big group to cook food and enjoy. We had pretty comfortable stay. Thredbo is 30 mins from here and was a comfortable drive. All shops are nearby. I wish they provided WiFi and better facilities for burning the firewood in fireplace (we had to buy the fire lighter ourselves).

Spacious and well set up
Alison G - 11th January 2022With two families sharing during a summer visit, Winterwood was a great size with everything we needed. The large upstairs kitchen is well stocked, the beds comfortable and the house well maintained (working insect screens were appreciated). We particularly enjoyed the deck with the view of the lake. The big surprise was rear garden access to a convenience store and bottle shop (in the petrol station on the main road). Despite proximity to the road, we found no problem with road noise.
